MRE Consulting, Ltd., is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its founding.
The Houston-based professional services firm opened its doors on March 11, 1994, with a focus on providing objective insights that combine business and technology to help companies achieve their goals.
MRE Consulting has achieved a tremendous amount of growth over the past quarter of a century. What began as a small start-up with fewer than 10 consultants has grown into a firm of more than 200 professionals located across the United States. MRE is led by its three founding partners, Mike Short, Shane Merz and Dru Neikirk, its three newly admitted partners, Doug Ashmore, Bill Bucy, and Bjorn Hagelmann and a leadership team including more than 23 directors and executives.
“Reasons behind MRE’s success include our culture and our people,” Neikirk said.
“Our team works incredibly hard to cultivate our relationships and expand our skills to attract new customers and deliver results to help grow our business. Our ability to anticipate what is coming and to adapt to the latest technology, while staying focused on the desired outcome, is what keeps MRE thriving in an ever-changing industry.”
In addition to expanded staff and capabilities, MRE has grown in reputation, racking up accolades from national, regional and industry-specific organizations including the Fast100, Inc.500, Houston Business Journal, MSPmentor, and CommodityPoint. Most recently, the firm was named to the CIO.com 100 in 2017. The CIO 100 honors 100 organizations around the world that demonstrate the highest level of performance in operational and strategic excellence in information technology through creating competitive advantages, improving ways of doing business and growing and strengthening relationships with customers.
“Our twenty-fifth anniversary gives us the opportunity to look back on our accomplishments,” Short said. “We have successfully served 453 clients. We have participated in the transformation of both energy industry and technology solutions. Employees are encouraged to invest in themselves and focus on the customer. We have consistently delivered value for our customers, no matter the challenges that we faced. Our passion for learning and commitment to our core values has allowed us to succeed throughout the years.”
“MRE’s success with its current customers is based on employees and team work,” Merz said. “Our employees – from the founding partners to the newest employee – aren’t afraid to roll their sleeves up and do whatever job needs to get done. We are always looking for new opportunities to grow the business and expand our reach.”
